Venues

Acoustic Sussex uses several venues, depending on the nature of the artist, seating requirements, etc.  For most events, we use Chequer Mead in East Grinstead or The Ravenswood in nearby Sharpthorne (see below). For particularly 'big-name' artists, we occasionally join with The Hawth in Crawley to co-promote events. In summer, we sometimes also link-up with a small pub, the Red Lion in Turners Hill, for open air events. All the venues are within a few miles of each other, in the Crawley/East Grinstead/Haywards Heath area.  Each is easily accessible via road (eg. from M23 junction 10) or by rail/taxi (stations at Gatwick, Three Bridges, Haywards Heath or East Grinstead).  For information on nearby accommodation, go to our Links page.

The Red Lion, Turners Hill (formerly the home of the Turners Hill/Crawley Folk Club) is a traditional Harveys pub with a large rear garden with a stage for occasional summer events.  Mine hosts, Ashley and Elaine, are musicians themselves - so anything can happen here!  Prepared food normally available lunchtimes only but if you telephone well in advance, Elaine may be able to accommodate your requirements!
